A belated Happy Canada Day to redmanorth, my brother and all other Redmen fans in Canada!
Happy 4th of July to everyone. 241 years and counting for our great nation that has given liberty and opportunity to so many. Have a great day, a hot dog and
beer if you can. I am going to catch a baseball game which I still think is American. Enjoy the day.
I was in Toronto a few weeks ago and took in the Sunday Jays-Yankees game. While baseball is decidedly American, they run a video clip during the game about Canada's historic ties to baseball, emphasizing that Jackie Robinson played his professional games in Canada (minor league). Interesting take on how much Canada loves baseball. For the record, the Jays even at sub .500 baseball, drew 47,000 plus that day.
Lots of problems on the political scene. Lots of celebrities ranted around election time that they would move out of the U.S. and give up their citizenship should Trump be elected. To date, there is not a single instance of anyone notable doing that. Why? Because despite all of our problems and divided ideologies, this is still the best place to live in the world, still the first to respond to humanitarian crises with the strongest response, still advocating for freedom and liberty around the globe.
Divided, yes. Broken, yes. The greatest nation in world history? Perhaps.
