Happy Bobby Bonilla Day !!!

Only 6 more payments until we are down to single-digit years of payments. Hopefully the Wilpons will soon be in the rear view mirror, but this particular pair of fuzzy dice will be dangling in front of us for years to come!

On the plus side, at least somebody associated with MLB is getting paid.

Loved hearing the co-host bust Steve Phillips' balls on the MLB Network on Sirius XM this morning about Bonilla. I think that Phillips does a great job on the radio but thought he was a major bust as the GM of the Mets.

Is BB on the expanded 60-man roster?

Dennis Gilbert made one of the best deals in baseball history but it was beneficial that the Wilpons were on the other side of the table. Hopefully karma when the Mets are sold, AT LAST, the purchaser will get the assets but leave this liability with the Wilpons as a reminder of their stupidity.

He also has a $500K/yr deferred contract with the Baltimore Orioles that is 25 yrs (2004-2029).

Bret Saberhagen also had a 25 yr deferment with the mets for $250K/yr - same time period as Bonilla

Bruce Sutter has an even sweeter deal with the Braves. Retired in '88, had a 30 year deferment of ~$1M interest only, and then gets a $9M final payout.
