Happy Birthday Mark Jackson

I generally don't like "hot dog" type players but he was an exception
Loved the "airplane" and the time he spent with the Knicks
I love him with Breen and Van Gundy but hope he gets another shot at coaching
Kerr deserves the accolades but it was Jackson who got it started in the right direction
Happy birthday #13. Thanks for the memories

No, it was the drafting of Steph Curry that got it started for the Warriors, which predated Jackson's time there.

There are some coaches who can make a difference in the NBA (Popovich being the obvious one, although that dynasty doesn't happen if David Robinson didn't miss almost all of 96-97, allowing them to draft Tim Duncan), but it's usually in terms of taking a good team over the top.

NBA success is much more dependent on the players you have on the roster.
