This may have already been reported many moons ago and I do remember posters maintaining that coaching staff was confident right up to the end of the Isiah Briscoe commitment but FWIW heard today that Lavin was on the phone with IB the night before the announcement and IB told SL "don't worry coach, I'm coming to St. John's."

I think RawDog said that Briscoe told some players he was coming as well.

Absolutely, devastated Lavin but that is the coaching profession. Must role with the punches.
Plan was for Briscoe, Diallo and Sampson.
