For those who are not aware, Gus was a great basketball player at St. John's.

As a senior his 1958-59 team won the Holiday Festival and The N.I.T.

The starters on that team were Gus, Alan Seiden, Tony Jackson, Lou Roethel and Rich Engert.

He was also a great coach at Hicksville High School and St. Anthony's of Smithtown.

A History major at St. John's, Gus also earned a doctorate in Education from Stony Brook.

He earned his Master's degree at St. John's

In case one is not aware you should know that this outstanding team played freshmen basketball under coach Jack Kaiser. Paschal was one of the starters; Tony Jackson was not yet at St.John's.
