G'Town & Syracuse Talking 10 Year Series Deal

That NYC appeal!

Boeheim said the discussions with Georgetown are for a home-and-home series rotating annually between the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y. and the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., but the Hoyas also mentioned playing a game in New York City.

"I would do that,'' Boeheim said. "We could do either one.''

What occurs with this they cannot allow Syracuse to have a home game at MSG.

Five years ago Rutgers had a home game there vs. UNC and they had the R smack middle of the court.

Those days need to be gone, or we should explore our options.

Looks like Cuse got what it wanted...an escape to the ACC stabbing us in the back AND keeping the NYC base being able to still play there. They got their cake and will eat it too.

Syracuse - Gtown can fill the place. We can't fill the place for anyone at this point without a lot of help from the opposition.

Well, we need to win first and get our culture back to a winning one, not an embarrassing one. That will do the trick.

We've moved well past being embarrassing.

Agree Beast..Even with the Lavin era in its' 4th year, we have lost so much of our 100 plus year's luster and respect in College BB. We will need several years of top 10 -15 rankings to
regain all that has been lost since the Artest era.

This year could be a start to doing that but, we need to challenge for the title in the new BE and win a few games in the NCAA tourney to return to glory.

We have experienced such a decline in St John's brand overall during the Harrington years not, just in Basketball.

Gtown and Syracuse looking out for themselves as usual. Some programs like SJU and Gtown have no problem with the ACC raping their league and then bending over for more! Meanwhile, back in ACC country -------------"Coach K says he won't schedule Maryland after Terps' Big Ten move".

You call for punishing Syracuse. But that just punishes the fans.. I agree with you that Syracuse took the money and ran, leaving behind history and longtime partners.
But why should a Georgetown fan be prevented from seeing his team play Syracuse? Because his administration doesn't like Syracuse's administration?
To me, that would be the greater harm.

The easy thing to do would be to stop playing Syracuse. They've owned us for more than a decade. The best way to give it to Syracuse is not by avoiding them, but by kicking their ass.

They need us more than we need them with regard to venue. We should demand that the game be at MSG every year.

You really think that?

How many open dates and opponents are there for them? I guess if they are part of a tournament at the Garden every year then they don't need us. But would that happen? If they do a one-shot game every year there, do season ticket holders for the Carrier Dome get pissed? We should invite them as a permanent member of the Holiday Festival. Then they'll most likely get two games out of it. Could even make the Holiday Festival a huge deal and match us and them up in the first round every year, and have two decent names on the other side.

I may be biased, but something like St. John's-Syracuse/Gonzaga-Illinois would be awesome.
