Greg W Staying

As my guy Happy correctly inferred earlier in week, Greg was likely to transfer prior to SJU landing Mike Anderson. Imo, Greg will thrive in new system imo

Agreed, you think there's any chance Simon reconsiders? He would probably benefit the most I feel.

Anderson's system is ideal for Williams, LJ, Mustapha, Simon and Roberts
They would all thrive with solid coaching in the "40 minutes of hell" system
Fingers crossed!!!

No, but we’ll see.

Williams is a great athlete. I can’t wait to see him develop.

Glad to hear it. He may not be the most talented player but he sure plays hard. Reminds me of Amar A.

Nope[/quote]

Oh well, wishful thinking here.

Good news. Those 3 freshmen staying their four years here would be good to see. Maybe MA recruits over them next few years, maybe they all develop into solid players. Either way all 3 help us heading into next year.

In the era of social media and some parents who feel the need to publicly-air issues or discontent, Mr. Williams is a breath of fresh air. We should call him "Greg Senior Gets It" (in place of so-and-so buys something).

Far superior athlete than Amar; we'll see if it can translate to hoops at a high-level.

It is clear Mike A called all the kids and families immediately. Naturally that is what he should do, but seeing him yesterday tells me he comes across as genuine. Hopefully that translates to success on the court. Early, but feeling guardedly optimistic.

He has not put his name in as draft early entrant and only has until tomorrow. Hard to see him transferring again. Maybe new staff will teach him the importance of rebounding...

Keita plays hard. I think his knee injury impacted his play level.
Maybe the new Staff can 'develop' his game.
Hoping for good things from him next season in a 'hell-ish' system.

I think he played hard. His downfall was that he tried to make himself into a stretch 4 type of player and he was a step late on certain defensive plays. The 40 mins of hell system may benefit him as well as he should be able to get some points from the glass (provided that they instill it him to focus on crashing the boards and primarily sticking to his man).

Listen, the most important two right now are Heron and Figueroa. I friggin love Figueroa as a player so I hope we can get him to stay. Everybody wants him. He’s fantastic so I expect the offers to be tempting. Sitting a year though, is downright stupid with such a good coach coming in who coaches the Swiss Army knife style that Figueroa already plays. Anderson will hone Figs wild style at times and make him a better player. Love that kid and he’s near impossible to replace imo.

Unless Heron is going to try to go pro, he should stay and play for Mike Anderson. I thought Heron had a tough year under Mullin. At times he was great. Lots of times he was frustrated though, and I felt it was due to lack of coaching and direction. I think Heron expected a breakout year. So did Ponds. Neither had it because the coaching simply wasn’t there. Frustration ensued. Heron needs more coaching and needs to have a great year before being draftable. Hope he returns.

As we know, nothing sure with the young brains of these kids and influence of parents and “handlers”. Hope coach Anderson can get both to stay.
