Great story - very inspirational - thanks for sharing
Unfortunately, the media loves to bash today's youth
This story reinforces my contention that there are a lot of great young adults out there who are ready and eager to contribute to help make our world a better place
 
Every year, there are a number of high school students who overcome very long odds to attain academic scholarships to prestigious schools. Some have horrible family circumstances, including homelessness, and still managed to achieve what advantaged kids do not. Hopefully, for this kid, his dedication, caring, and focus will reap him huge rewards, on or off the playing field.
