Gottlieb and Boeheim have an bad relationship. He'll do anything to take a shot at them. I brushed it off.
That being said, the selection of Syracuse gives every coach carte blanche to cheat in the future, IMO. Who cares if you get suspended? It won't be held against you.

Yes, it is true but the way he says it is piling on and just being a wise a$$....Big difference from just stating that they had bad losses to teams like St. John's...

Well they must be discounting the Hopkins games, therefore the loss to St.John's doesn't count

Which gives every coach in America carte blanche to cheat. Because, after all, if your team does lousy while you are gone, what's the punishment? Isn't a suspension supposed to hurt the program? I would feel differently if he left for health or bereavement reasons.
However, the worst selection was probably Tulsa. I didn't even consider them to be a bubble team.
I don't care if there's truth in the statement, it's a classless move.
Imagine you are a player for St. John's, you worked hard all year despite the adversity, you sit down to watch the selection show for fun, and a cheap shot like that is taken at you. Just classless. There's plenty of reasons Syracuse shouldn't of gotten. How about how their RPI was 72, the highest RPI to ever get an at large. So why does Doug have to say that sh*t? Such an annoying guy and such a punchable face

Yes we were terrible and it is a valid argument that Cuse should not have gotten in, and I am sorry our win didn't do that much damage to them. But suggesting we should be thrown out of the league is a little much

I guess, whatever age he is or education he has, Mr. Gottlieb has never learned about tact, tone, manner of speaking. As others have pointed out, no need for his comment at all - or at the minimum - he could have phrased it more maturely.

I know but my scenario was just as plausible.
We stunk, we were a bad loss to pretty much anyone. We have no justification to take the high ground on anything.
We will be better next year but you can't get mad at people for pointing out we stunk this year.
