Not sure a pipeline to a school that hasn't produced a high major in 15 years is the best pipeline to have.

Have always believed that if Thomas, a senior having a very good tournament, had started over junior Bernard Rencher in the Elite 8 loss to Penn, we would have won that game and gone to the Final Four ... only to be totally crushed by Magic Johnson's MSU team, no doubt, but nevertheless gone to the Final Four.

Maybe so, but Rencher's play in the earlier stages of the first half -- strongly criticized by Billy Packer as being "too cool" and "nonchalant" (or words that were very similar) -- hurt the team. Gordon Thomas starting over Rencher, or at least subbing for him a few minutes into the game, would have made a big difference in a game that ended 64-62. Whatever. One thing's for sure: one of the most frustrating losses in our NCAA history.

Absolutely loved Reggie. Yet another guy whose jersey should be hanging in CA

And in the game after Duke, Wayne McKoy's tip-in of a Reggie Carter miss over All American James Bailey beat Rutgers at the buzzer. Gordon Thomas shot 60% from the field in the 1979 NCAA Tournament.
