Good luck charm for tonight’s game

I thought I’d post these photos of my son and my new grandson in their St. John’s gear ready to cheer us on to victory tonight. The solo photo of my grandson looks like he’s ready to play defense. I hope I’m not scarring him for life by trying to make him a St. John’s fan. But as a close friend of mine, and a fellow St. John’s fan told me, “It’s good to teach him early that life can be difficult and he should be prepared for disappointments.” But not tonight! Go Johnnies!

Awesome. When I changed my kids diapers I would teach them the song the band played that ended "go st. Johns" as they began to speak they'd chant along "st. John"

All became st John's fans and each is a blessing, as I pray your grandson will be for your family.

Wonderful pictures, Tony. Congratulations on having two handsome Redmen fans in your family. As for you, ... well, two out of three ain't bad. ;)

Thanks Beast. Wonderful sentiments.

Could you please have another grandchild by Saturday morning? We need more luck[/quote]

LOL! That’s a tall order. But I did demand that my son and my grandson wear their St. John’s gear on every game day. That should help! ;-)

It would make for a snazzy baptism instead of the kid being in a dress.

Each of my three kids did not attend St. John's. Each of them root for St. John's very hard, as they've been coming to games with me since they were 5 or 6 years old. Even my son-in-law roots for St. John's and I won't tell you which college team is his favorite because it would make you hurl (hint). But it's been great fun having my kids (and hopefully some day grandkids) root for St. John's. My daughters have come to me to Denver and Charlotte for the NCAA's, and a few times each year buy enough tix for the entire family to take in a game.

I hope you continue a St. John's tradition with your grandchildren. It's been great fun sharing that with them.

Congrats on your new grandchild - what a blessing! Not to mention a very effective good luck charm the other night.

Great pics Tony!
That’s the way to bring them up!

Heck, if it's going to give us luck, I'll throw another charm our way. I have been a little busy this past year, doing my part to grow the fan base.

This is my second son. For posters who have met me and might be wondering......I'll be 66 yo when this little guy graduates high school and 70 when he finishes college!

Johnnyfan, big congrats - very cute little guy!
Great Johnny fans think alike - today is my youngest boy's 18th birthday. I will be one week shy of 67 when he graduates HS in early June and a month short of 71 when he (hopefully) graduates from college. Have 3 older daughters in late 20s. I am just signing his birthday card which says something like "Thanks for existing, my life would be way more boring without you". And, it goes without saying, way more boring without the Johnnies!

All the best with your new addition.

Thanks, NC! Love hear from other older Dad's. Don't have the same energy as I did for the first one, but we can do this.
