Bummed out that I am watching Providence tonight. My wife is a Georgetown alum so at least we have 1 game of interest. Read all the posts on yesterday's games and it sucks we lost but am extremely excited we are going to the Big Dance. Go SJ!!!

I'll be there as well with a few other folks from Redmen. Hoping for a GTown-Villanova championship

I was there tonight. I hated the idea of going to watch basketball after our horrible masquerade of college athletes playing basketball. Really was in a foul mood. But, like falling off of a bicycle, it was actually a fun game to watch. Providence didn't fold when they could have, and made it a game.

I was surrounded by Nova fans, who were well behaved, and most rolled their eyes when Arch got two free throws at the end that he didn't deserve.

Great college game coming down to the last minute. Gongrats to Nova. and Providence

Let me get this straight, you went to a Big East semi-finall and actually expected to see
a St John's team playing. Being a St John's basketball fan is like living a life on dope.

I was there, and the games were very exciting. 4 straight fantastic finishes in this tournament, after 4 straight duds to begin it (including, but not limited to, our game, unfortunately).

BS call at the end of the Providence game. Kudos to Cooley. He was very classy about it afterward in his postgame remarks, much more then I would have been if that had been us.

Nice comeback attempt by Gtown, but if they didn't spend the first 28 minutes looking like we did yesterday, they would have won this easily. Sadly, I think JT3's team may be ripe for another early round NCAA upset.

Also met weatherman at the train station afterwards (we've crossed paths before, but never knew his identity here until now). Good guy, and true Johnnies fan, all the way.

Went to all the games yesterday, tonight and will be going to the championship game. I love going to the games every year whether we are in it or not, I just wish we could have advanced for once. It's a good time interacting with all the fans from the other teams.

I know the team played like crap yesterday but I think the amount of SJU fans that came out for what ended up being our Seniors last game at MSG was embarrassing. There is no excuse that in our town, on our home court that the Providence fans are much louder than ours at player introductions.

Went to the games last night. I was a little melancholy that we did not make the semis. However I saw two close games and the Garden, especially when it is filled, is a great venue for college basketball.

After watching Villanova Providence I was inspired to think that Ryan Arcidiacono needed to take his half of the Big East player of the year award and hand it right over to Kris Dunn. If anyone had any doubts about who deserved that award before the game, they shouldn't have had any doubts about it afterwards. Kris Dunn is the undisputed Big East player of the year. He was magnificent, in a tough defeat that ended with a suspect call that led to Arcidiacono's two game winning free throws. Here are the comparative stat lines from Dunn and Arci from last night's game.

Dunn: 38Min, 9-19FG%, 2-5 3Pt%, 2-4FT%, 7reb, 9ast, 2Stl, 0Blk, 4To, 2Fouls, 22 Pts

Arci: 30Min, 1-5FG%, 1-3 3Pt%, 3-4FT%, 0reb, 2ast, 1Stl, 0Blk, 0To, 2Fouls, 6 Pts

As for the second game Xavier dominated Georgetown for the first thirty-two minutes, opening up a twenty point lead and then spent the last eight minutes falling apart but hanging on for a two point victory.

If Xavier plays like they did for the first thirty-two minutes against Villanova, then they have a punchers chance tonight. However I think the Wildcats will most likely win and hoist up the championship trophy. They are the class of the league and should secure that number one NCAA seed after dodging the bullet against Providence and the magnificent Dunn last night.

Not fair, but it makes me feel that Tommy Calabrese should have gotten more recognition,

I was at the games last night as well. Of course, not happy that St Johns was not involved. Surprised at how many Redmen fans were there all hoping we would be playing. Same old story for us. We actually have fans but unless we give them something we will be the sleeping Johnnies of Union Turnpike.

As for the games, wow PC was screwed by the refs at the ends. I think the worst thing an official can do is anticipate contact before it happens. Seeing it live and then on the overhead screens at MSG it was pretty clear that the refs blew the call outright.

Stayed all the way to the end of Gtown and Xavier and I thought JTIII did not do a very good job managing the end of the game. I think at some point he needed to have one of his guys miss the 2nd free throw. They never did and on the last possession they just didn't have enough time to get a decent shot.

Sorry for the long post but hey I got back home about 2:30 a.m. It was a long night of hoops and I enjoyed it. Maybe sometime in our lifetime it will be SJU again.

Think in today's day and age players get rewarded with individual awards because of team sucess. If Prov finished first and Nova fourth Dunn wins award hands down which he should have IMO anyway.
