A couple weeks ago a New Mexico player used this term to describe the current UNLV Runnin Rebel squad, well I would use that to describe us a bunch ranked players that are just athletes no real basketball IQ and biggest reality not being able to execute/ create in half court. The say in the NBA teams that win in the playoffs can play in half court the same can be said about winning college teams.

sounds like he was talking about st johns

Are we back to this nonsense again? One bad game in a month and the turncoats come out. They are group of young kids. They just has a huge letdown game against Nova and there is a lot going on off the court.

This loss may be the best thing that happened to them. Backs are up against the wall and that mind of pressure might be exactly what they need.

Marillac, I totally agree with you. While disappointed about the last two games, I am not giving up on this team. As I stated previously, there seems to be some on this board who can't wait for a loss so they can start ripping the players and coaches again. To me, they are not real fans.
it is going to be hard to make the NCAA tourney now, but I am a fan of St Johns basketball so I will continue to attend games and root for the team.

We were outplayed bottom line.... They took us out of our transition game completely!!! Very possible we get in with 3-4 victories!! Harrison was a non factor, no real penetration and no 50/50 balls equals a tough loss

Who is spouting nonsense? I admire your positive spin on anything and everything but there are bad games and there are bad games. The truth is in the last two games we have reverted back to non-team oriented one on one basketball on offense. A bad game is when you run your stuff, share the ball and it just doesn't work; you don't shoot well, etc. That is not the case here, we again played poor, dumb, selfish basketball. We went back to Sampson, Pointer, and Sanchez dribbling up out of control instead of looking for a guard. Sampson and the team and coaches seemed to forget his very effective post up game and he became a roaming around the perimeter player again. Our guards dribbled to no end looking for their own, never getting us into any offensive flow. How many good passes do you remember from last night? I remember ONE, Sanchez to Greene for a 3! There may have been others but I don't remember them. On defense, well, 147 uncontested layups speaks for itself. Xavier was obviously very confident they could break us down whenever they wanted because they consistently ran 25 seconds off the clock and then got an easy layup. Put whatever spin on it you want, me, I think we played a stretch of 10 good games (at the most) out of 30 and now have reverted back to what we are, a poorly coached, low IQ, very athletic team. As I have said many times it is how you play that I judge, not just the result.
