I used to be a huge collector of sports memorabilia. I had a collection of game used NBA jerseys of former St John's players and game used autographed sneakers. I also had a big Mets collection, including every Mets card made by Topps, every Mets yearbook, etc. I displayed all of my stuff in my home office until we became empty nesters, downsized and moved into a condo. My wife insisted that I dispose of my "stuff", so I sold some of it, and donated much of it to the St John's athletic department.
This morning, I was thumbing through a local paper and saw an interesting article about two young brothers on Long Island who recently started an online site to sell game used college gear. They contacted former athletes and persuaded them to list their stuff on this site. There are a lot of basketball items (unfortunately no St John's stuff) and some football. It was a lot of fun to peruse the pages to see what was available.
