Perhaps you did not see that there are quite a few SJU fans who are worried that if Hoiberg got a high profile college job , perhaps like UCLA where his name is certainly being bounced around, that he would want Matt A to join him on his staff. I believe Matt A is happy st SJU but I can certainly appreciate their fear and understand their point of view because as things stand our recruiting is way too dependant upon Matt.
Personally I find this post to be super relevant to SJU fans and would be delighted to see Hoiberg take another NBA job.

As soon as I saw news about Thibs today i was wondering whether this would happen. I'm pretty sure I've read that Hoiberg wasn't a fan of recruiting, so another NBA gig makes a lot of sense. Especially one where he won't be hated for his laid-back style right off the bat.

St. Jon’s had to up Matt A’s salary to keep him from joining his buddy Will Wade. They once had to do the same thing to keep Ron Rutledge from joining Pat Kennedy at Florida, so you never know what might happen if offered a deal that is tough to refuse.

Plus Hoiberg's grandfather or something played at SJU so there is even more relevancy!
Also while Hoiberg and Matt have an obvious connection I've heard the bond isn't as strong as some want to think it is. Similar to that Mullin Slice connection everyone felt was strong as blood.

Was looking for something to watch while I was on the elliptical today and no college basketball to be found so wound up watching a little of Timberwolves vs. Thunder from Minneapolis. One of the celebrities they showed courtside was Fred Hoiberg who clearly was there for Final Four. Oh well...
