I was watching the Oklahoma St vs West Virginia game and the Play by play guy says that St. John’s is the most talked about team in the country right now and what a week they’re having. Fraschilla responds with “Yeah, now they’re only two games behind DePaul for last place in the Big East.” What a Jackass!

And then he dropped his pants........

No one is a bigger Mullin supporter than me. But Fraschilla is right, the record is the record. We have proven that we have the talent to beat anyone, even without Lovett. The fact that we couldn't close out a few games earlier makes this recent run bittersweet, at least for me.

Agree, it’s been a tough year—all in. And we’re easy pickings for recruiting wolves on that 0-11 gamut-run of pain and frustration.
This Site was full of howling wolves—including me a few times. So, easy to understand how it’s come to pass that Brooks is slipping away.
But I think we’re back. This is a better team than most of us thought—despite the thin bench.
These kids have shown us ‘something’ through most of that 0-11 ‘streak’ and particularly these last 3 games.
It sounds crazy, but—with luck—I think we can run the table these next 5 games, win at least 2 wins in the BET, be ‘on the cusp’for an NCAA bid with a season record of 20-14, and maybe-just-maybe win a game there, for a total 2017-18 record of 21-15.
That would silence the Mullin naysayers and give solid credence that St. John’s basketball is on the way back.

Did you take a poll ?
How do you quantify that you are the biggest Mullin supporter ?
So Frascilla who inherited Zendon Hamilton, Felipe Lopez , top 60 recruit Tarik Turner , top 35 recruit Lavor Postell and I could continue won I believe 14 games his first season while Mullin inherited AA, C Jones and Belamou and won 8. Any wonder why FF wants to talk about ones record ? Who do you think did the better job coaching at SJU ?

Actually I remember the Felipe years well. They were some of the most frustrating years I could remember as a fan. In Fran's first year we actually only won 13 games with Mahoney ruined players. The year before, under Brian Mahoney, they only won 11 games and Mahoney was sent packing. Remember, that was the old Big East with Syracuse, UCONN, West Virginia, etc. Fran won 8 Big East games his first year while Chris won "one" game. The Mahoney recruited team played extremely poorly together and had zero chemistry if you recall. The year after when Fran had his some of his own players like Artest he won 22 games and won 13 conference games topped by a quick NCAA exit. The rest was twisted history that to this day has never been fully explained because of the separation non-disclosure agreement. It was the start of the tradition of "rebuilding" every 4 years. Hopefully what is past will not be prolog since some of us are getting too old for this B.S.

Here's my take, FF is an ESPN guy, St. John's and the Big East are Fox Sports/CBSSN, so he's got no love loss for our Conference and his time spent in the BE and with SJU didn't end well. Sour grapes, perhaps?

But I must say, in the past I have heard good things come from FF about the Johnnies, in fairness to him.

I prefer Steve Lappas of the former Jasper coaches. (Full circle -- Brian Mahoney is an All Time, Star Jasper.)

If Fran was around another year or two we probably have another final four banner.

Jarvis reached the elite 8 with Frans players. Imagine what a real coach couldve done.

Unfortunately both Fran Fraschilla and Jarvis were using the St. John's job as a stepping stone to a Power Five job. Instead they both stepped in shit. Chris Mullin's best attribute is that he lives and breathes St. John's red. He's come a long way from his freshman season. He needs to snag a couple of studs to gain recruiting credibility.
