Not to mention that brothers Greg, Hank, and Kevin were all SJU starters. His heart is with SJU, and his career was hampered by bad knees. Although he probably wouldn't admit it now, he follows and roots for St. Johns.

Nice win for Iona. No question Cluess is going to have success. Winners tend to win wherever they go.

I remember my dad talking about Cluess when he was at St. Mary's (right?) then Post, and always saying how he could win at every level. I then remember him always saying he should have got the job over Norm, and his reasoning was they are both unproven but Cluess has always won. I laughed initially, and he continued to say Cluess should be our next coach. Granted, our coach now is great, and I really think the best person for the job, being how charismatic he is, which is something a NYC team needs, but Cluees is a great coach. If he ever became our coach at some point in the future for whatever reason we would be ok.
