Four Hofstra Basketball Players Arrested

What rotten luck -- the two least productive players are also the ones with lesser charges.

I'm a Hofstra grad student and just got this mass email from the administration. I thought you'd might find it interesting.

"By now many of you have seen the media accounts of the arrest of four Hofstra Men’s basketball student-athletes for burglaries that occurred on campus. Our Department of Public Safety has worked in close cooperation with the Nassau County Police Department to investigate these burglaries. The University has suspended all of these students from the University, including classes and the athletic program, and banned them from campus pending the final disposition of the charges.

Our first priority is to ensure that our campus is safe and secure, and that our entire community understands that criminal activities of any type will not be tolerated. We will continue to promote the safety, health and welfare of our students in every way possible. We are saddened and distressed by these events."

One of the mothers said to the media, "Nassau County is racist". I wish she accidentally fell face first on the asphalt after that comment.

Four players arrested for on campus burglary. All have been suspended.

How stupid to sell stolen stuff on campus u robbed it from ,list it on craigs list duh police monitored lol
& then they went to a pawnshop who will lose their license if they dont report stolen stuff to pd

Wonder which player stole the Head coaches phone etc in may?
Maybe the coach should have sensed a couple of thieves in his program & done a better investigation duh

Hofstra is an institution which chooses to name an athletic field house and “distinguished service medal” in honor of the late Joseph Margiotta.

Margiotta was a convicted felon. He went to jail for being a thief.

Academic institutions and their leaders should be setting an example in honesty and positive role model behavior.
No surprise this happened at Hofstra. It is just the chickens coming home to roost.

Sounds like the coach there is doing a bang up job picking the kids there. Of course we have seen some of that in our past here. Too bad some of these kids don't seize the true opportunity and choose to take another path. Stupid very stupid.
