In today's daily news former sju pitcher Keith Stamler(pitched in the late 1990's was a solid pitcher for SJU, remember him well) was involved in a drunken brawl at a recent yankee home game.

I was actually at that game. Don't recall much commotion in that area as thats where I was too. I did see someone in an STJ shirt. Wonder if it was them.

I had Mets season tickets for about 5 seasons (I know - minor league baseball), and while a little more family friendly than Yankee Stadium, there were a number of occasions where 20 and 30 somethings get loaded up, get loud and foul, and if you ask them politely to tone it down, you are looking at a potential fight. I know it would be sacrilege to many fans, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if beer was banned at sporting events. For many fans attending a sporting event is just an opportunity to get drunk, and when drunk guys lose all sensibilities. I really hope that if this story unfolded this way, the Yankees are held accountable. Beer money is a huge revenue producer, and of course the Yankees know the stands are loaded with drunks.

A friend and me were talking to a Cop at that Yankee game in the outfield as we roamed around. He mentioned there were talks to stop beer sales in the bleachers again. Now this time around its tough since the bleachers are connected to the stadium as opposed to the old stadium. All someone has to do is walk to get it. But the cop was saying they hope its enough to diminish their interest.

That being said I think the old stadium is light years more friendly than the old stadium when it comes to less fighting and such.
