Fordham Game

On paper this should be an easy SJU win but as we all know from prior SJU games (along with some of the crazy upsets we've seen this year) nothing should be taken for granted. The Rams come in on a modest 2 game winning streak after losing 4 in a row. Freshman guard Eric Paschall currently leads Fordham at 16 PPG, shooting 47% from the field and 34% from 3 point range. Junior Ryan Rhoomes is averaging close to a double double (8 points & 11 rebounds a game). Sophomore guard Jon Severe's issues have been detailed in another thread already. Expect Fordham to come out with a chip on their shoulder after last year's blowout win against them.

I think we run them out of MSG.

They are In the A10 but they are more of a Patriot league team.

Pecora has already lost control of the team and the fans on their board want him gone saying the players act like they don't care and they're all out of shape.

Like us one of their W's was against a non d1 opponent their two game win streak could've easily been losses. The guard on Siena scored 32 against them -we should be able to destroy their backcourt.

81-55 SJU light n easy tomorrow

* When Orlando Sanchez scored 19 and we were giddy with the prospect of him bringing that for the rest of the 13/14 season. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got for O.S.

I think we hit 17 straight shots against them last year, and that was still less than the amount of shots that Severe missed. Unfortunately for us, he won't be playing tomorrow.

I expect a christmas holiday festival beatdown so bad that Pecora converts to judaism

What's Pecora's record versus St John's? He has won more than a few.

If the Johnnies don't come out hard, it won't be an easy win.

Unfortunately he has a good record against us.

If we don't put a beatdown on them Nathalie will never let me drag her to a game again after tomorrow :)

Pecora did me a solid this year, so I wish nothing but the best for him. He's a Queens Village guy, and it would be great for NYC bball if Fordham can develop into a formidable team during his tenure.

I get the feeling that this team is focused and hungry right now, and there will be no mental breakdowns or taking anything for granted. After last season, I think they know that if there's a letdown, they can be upset. Hoping we come out strong early, and don't let up.

That time has come and gone. He will be updating his resume shortly.

You may be right, but essentially Pecora is one of us - a local guy, and is a genuinely good guy. I always root for guys who grew up here to be successful, even when they play or coach a different team (except against SJU).

I will bring a muzzle just in case they do play crappy. You know how bad play tends to bring out the worst in us.

We are looking forward to our first MSG game with the 114 crew.

I think Pecora is a good guy and I dont think we need to criticize him. He is NY bred and very personable. Let them just go out and beat Fordham and leave it at that. Fordham is a sleeping dog, let sleeping dogs lie.

Pecora is a real good guy. He wanted the challenge, and really wanted to , and still is trying to turn the program around and infuse some hope into the fan-base. FU's basketball program the last 20 years speaks for the real problems there.. athletics administration and the BOT not giving a damn about sports.

CO will have a field day out there today.

I like Queens Village's own Tom Pecora, who obviously could coach based upon his Hofstra record, but man Fordham is a tough place to win. Appreciate Tom Penders success even more now.

Does the game start at 2 or 2:30? The TV guide has it coming on at 2:30 on MSG, while cbs sportsline says 2. I need to DVR the game.

There is a game at 12. By the time that ends you need at least 20 minutes for warmups. I don't know why they bother putting 2pm on tickets and such.
