St. John's mascot would be rated most forgettable.

1) wish we could go back to the red men
2) Shows how ridiculously PC we have become. A leprechaun is a fictional character, how do you offend a fictional character. It may be connected to the Irish but in no way makes the Irish less.
3) The Seminoles are a Tribe or Indian nations. The Seminole warrior is a Nobel figure.  If you asked the remaining members of the tribe they do not have a problem with this.  If anything it keeps them in our consciousness instead of sweeping them under the rug so we can remember the trail of tears and the horrible job Andrew Jackson and the supreme court did.

I have been and remain offended by the St. John's mascot. It is ridiculous and an embarrassment.

The Red Velvet Cakes!

Even that is better than the Red Storm.  The Red Storm choice was terrible.
How the heck did they choose a name that is not plural with an "s" at the end of the name?

Huskies, Badgers,
It's just easier to chant a name like that during a game:
"Let's go ____s" over and over - to bring a crowd alive.

Once the school was moving away from the traditional R_dm_n name, they should have gone with any one- or two-syllable animal name, throw the word "Red" in front of it, and add a plural "s" at the end of it.

Red Bears, Red Bulls, Red Dogs, Red Eagles, Red Wolves, Red Ants... literally anything.

The AD should re-visit this. Red Storm is a dumb choice

What I find funny is that FSU's mascot voted most offensive yet, the Seminole Tribe of Florida fully endorses the mascot. They are on record saying they never want the name and mascot to ever be removed. So who actually is offended. The tribe even had say in the turquoise like jerseys the basketball team wears as it has meaning to the Seminole nation. To me (biased as a FSU football fan) the planting of the spear with the tomahawk chop is one of the best traditions

I may be alone on this one. But once Looie was in favor of ditching Redmen, so was I.

If only the New York Times had run a front page piece de-crying the fact that St. John's University changed the name given to the school by one of their writers referring to the football team's uniform colors, not Native Americans, oh well that didn't happen.

Red Storm isn't great, but we kept the "Red", and I don't find it awful. I admit, I chant it and don't feel embarrassed.

As for needing plurals, how about those/them Standford Cardinal?

As for our mascot, I guess it is a gimmick for kids, I don't really get it, but it can't be offensive, because it is not anything or anyone.

We have a mascot?
Well, you have your sheep all 20 of whom you have painted red.
Sure, but that's water based paint and its only used for the the Roman orgy parties.  (You were able to wash it off, right?)
