It’s official Florida State is the 2020 men’s National Champion .... at least as far as the State of Florida’s Senate is concerned.

Florida state senator Joe Gruters introduced a resolution that passed on Friday declaring Florida State University as the 2020 NCAA basketball national champions due to the NCAA's decision to cancel March Madness.

joe gruters is my state senator (fl #23). i just wrote to him to inform him of SJU's crown claim.

What do you expect them to do instead? Try to find a reasonable accommodation for a pandemic and economic meltdown and, most importantly, TP shortage?

Absolutely right. Remember a few years ago, UCF went undefeated in football and won it's bowl game to go 13-0. They declared themselves National Champions and purchased championship rings for their players and coaches. I believe that they also may have raised a championship banner in their stadium.
