Five Things to Look Forward to Article

Thanks, Paultz this was a good read. Curious to see Simon and Clark play. Simon didn't see much action at all and Clark's numbers were underwhelming. For Simon I hope he was just blocked by older players and he became impatient. For Clark maybe the talent was so deep he couldn't get enough minutes. In either case, they will have to produce way more for us and they certainly will get that chance. Hopefully, the time off and practice has these two ready to go. If you are honest about it many of our own players have more experience than both these guys. I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best.

St. John's has made two final four appearances (1952 and 1985), not one as the article stated.

Yes SJU85 - a "mere" two NCAAs
However...
AND also many NITs (appearances/championships) when the NIT WAS THE TOURNAMENT!!!

SJU's high water mark in Div I Basketball is very high!
Every bit as good as Villanova & Gonzaga & Xavier etc.
We can back to it!- our high water mark.
Amen :fight:

I am more interested right now in their talent level. There are plenty of good reasons that talented freshman either don't get burn, or modestly perform at major programs. From all accounts these 2 are really good basketball players, which we need. As we saw with TOwens, it was a question as to what he had to offer, but he proved to be a solid BE player, and hopefully only to get better.

So, I am anxious to see these 2, and I feel that they will perform beyond those modest freshman numbers. Of course, we will see.
