First BE Prediction site

We have two top 100 new players, not one. No chance we finish in last place. By season end we could be a tough out assuming we add a couple more big men.

No way we finish last. Absolutely no way. If we add one or two bigs and a shooter I think we'll be banging on the top eight. You can't discount the value of the experience everyone got last year. I think 3Lo will be a terror this year. Branch will really help by distributing and Garrett looked ready to break out. Gimme Chandler and Sanchez and look out.

Bingo

Let these teams sleep on us. Love it that way... A few more big guys and we'll be real good.

Dont put any stock in that article. The late signing period just began and they are making predictions already. We lose one player, add 2 top 50 players, giving us 5 top 100 players and were worse then last year. We'll be better then alot of those teams if the right pieces come into place this spring

This is simply one of the worst predictions I have ever seen. Anyone that thinks STJ is anything but a team that can be dangerous next year isotherm knows nothing aboutt the game or has not kept up with STJ.

It's easy to see we lost Moe, and I suspect that this writer looks no further. For as good as Moe was, he was an 18 year old SF playing PF and C. We replaced him with a 19 year old who is a higher ranked recruit with an extra year of playing the highest level of prep ball in the country--a kid that is more suited for PF than Moe was.

We added a TOP SIXTY soph point guard! We also have an ultra-athletic wing, Balamou, and will hammer in some size in depth in the next few weeks. We are a tournament team.

Gotta absolutely agree with all of the above. Just ridiculous and no credibility. We add some size (and we will, in Lavin I trust), and we will be dangerous. The team is arguably better already than last year (talent-wise wiht the already-signed additions), and absolutely deeper. With the experience factor added in, we should be a "surprise" team to beat.

I dont know how these writers make predictions before the signing period is over, I think they just need BS to write to fill up pages.

We should take this guy to task. Anyone that can make this awful of a prediction should not be working in the sports field. Let's make him commit to this so he can't squirm out later by saying something like "Lavin signed four recruits after I made this prediction" "or nobody could have predicted how good Amir Garrett would be this year."

This prediction begins and ends with Moe declaring for the draft, and certainly takes into account Lavin signing a few more recruits this year--we have FIVE MORE spots!

We return a freshman that scored over 16 ppg!!!!! How anyone can put down predictions like this--professionally--in writing before the signing period is over is just insane.

Who cares what this guy has to say.. We were a bad team last year and we are losing a big piece in Moe. That's what it looks like to the average basketball writer who doesn't know what we are bringing in recruiting wise. I agree with MCN.. Let people sleep on this team.

At this point, no matter who we sign, few objective prognasticators are going to have us finishing in the top half of the Big East. I find it funny when posters say that if we sign Chandler and Sanchez, we're going to be dangerous next year. How many posters on this Board have ever even seen Chandler and Sanchez play in person, no less analyzed their games in detail. It's ludicrous for anybody to predict next year's results at this point in time (when the recruiting season hasn't finished), but based on the current set of facts, picking us to finish in the lower echelon in the Big East is not at all ridiculous.

Potentiall our entire starting lineup next season could be top 60 players out of HS, with some more top 60 kids and JC AA's on the bench. And we're still not done recruiting. Like I said, let them pencil us in last place now. It will be that much easier to overachieve and draw a huge buzz to our program.

The writer claims Providence has two new recruits and everyone back. Didn't Coleman opt to transfer?

A few kids transferred. The writer didn't do his homework.

I don't think it is unreasonable at all to believe that (i) with a more than credible replacement for Mo; (ii) the additon of a top flight point guard; (iii) added depth at the shooting guard spot; (iv) added depth overall, with a longer roatation; and (v) the expected addition of at least one if not more serviceable bigs, that SJU will be better, and maybe a lot better than last year.

I think anyone who predicts SJU is not a sweet 16 team next year needs to have a johnny thunderbird seared on their rear ends. That will knock some sense into them.
