Felix only played in four games and did so prior to the start of the second semester. I believe, if St. John's can show he was still bothered by his surgically repaired ankle, that he can get a medical redshirt for this season (just like Ware of Louisville who played in a few games this year but is still going to transfer).

Can anyone confirm this.
 
I don't know, and great if so; but (IHOP), it would be bogus.

I was hoping the month he spent with his sick mom in Africa would be what they would be shooting for in terms of getting his red shirt back. Right after he came back he ended up going to Africa coz his mom was sick

I think he'll get the year back, and have a total of three years of eligibility remaining. Between the injury, playing only four games for a total of 35 mins, not playing at all in the second semester and traveling to a different continent to see his sick mother, I think it's a very good bet.
 
Did anyone else open this thread thinking it was about him transferring? man I'm paranoid now
 
I don't trust the NCAA to do us any favors and certainly not quickly. I still don't know why Balamou ever got off the bench this year

The NCAA is reeling. They don't need any more bad press.
I just can't understand why Lavin would have jeopardized the redshirt if he didn't have plans to play him big minutes. Even if he thought Jordan was a goner or whatever conspiracy theories Baldi threw out there, why activate a kid for five minutes? Makes no sense.

The only logical explanation is Lavin thought Sheed was gone. But then again ,not everything Lavin does is logical.It would be a shame for Felix to loose a year of eligibility for the few minutes he played. Unless there is a compelling reason, can't blame NCAA.

After I posted it I told myself I should have put some kind of disclaimer on it or included "Redshirt" in the subject title to keep someone from thinking exactly what you did. Then I told myself, no you're just being paranoid. I guess I wasn't.

But then again, based on this post, I seem to be talking to myself a lot, so maybe I am a little paranoid.
 
I for one have high hopes for Felix. He gives 110% on defense and offense in every game and is the kind of player who makes things happen. If he can improve his shooting Felix can IMO be an important contributor.
 
Unfortunately, I haven't seen any offense. Wing guards need to shoot. Whether he can't or won't i don't know. Until he shows he can score, he'll only be a complimentary defender.

He'll be playing the three and maybe even some four, but he'll be able to defend numerous positions. I think everyone is selling this kid short. He's not a pure shooter, but he can shoot. I just hope he gets the opportunity to shine.

I would love nothing more than for him to become a good small forward .

Lavin was talking about playing small. We might have to unless some more guys are signed. He plays much bigger than 6'4. I could see him playing some four in a 2-3.

More like 6' 3". I don't get the Balamou love-fest, but whatever.
