Felipe Lopez

Lopez is a very interesting person. Unique in so many ways. I wish he hadn’t gotten all those parking tickets at St. John’s and had his degree. What a shame.

The school should figure out a way to straighten that out.

"What could have been" is something to ponder, but the way the man has turned out--- as an ambassador for the sport--- and for all his charitable work,---- one has to give Felipe a big round of applause.

Les Cason, the wunderkind from East Rutherford, and 7 foot man-child who launched Dick Vitale’s career had a similar beginning as Felipe’s, but a horrible ending, unlike Felipe’s. At the end, Cason died homeless and paranoid and denied that he even was Les Cason, the basketball player.

Nobody should suffer the fate of Cason.

Was one NY1 with Budd Mishkin tonight talking about his foundation. amongst other things. I know it's been said many times before, but what a humble and wonderful human being Felipe is. In addition to being a great representative of the school.

Met Felipe at a fundraiser at Jameson's in Floral Park a few years back. He was definitely a friendly, humble guy. Have always rooted hard for that guy. I'm thinking some here may have been there. Have a nice pic with The Truth from the evening.
