If you are into March Madness brackets, here's something to tide you over.    You can check out the Fat Bear Contest during Fat Bear Week contest which starts tomorrow, September 29th.  Its an annual thing from Katami National Park and the size of the bears is amazing.  You can see their size comparisons between July and September as they need to "bulk up" (without steroids) to be able to hibernate for winter.  Holly, a favorite and 2019 champ, is among the contestants and initial Champ from 2014--Otis has returned.

Check out explore.org/fat-bear-week   Voting starts tomorrow for the "opening round" and contines until next Tuesday  for the "Finals"

Three time winner, Otis, is back "in shape" and looks his salmon fishing has been very successful this summer--kicking butt today.  Looks like a "Big" win for this oldtimer (he's about 25).  On Saturday, he will go up against Bear #747 whose number accurately describes his size and looks like a real challenge for Otis.

Otis is now a 4 time Fat Bear Champ ( 2016 and 2017 and the initial 2014 contest) beating Walker in the finals to be the 2021 Fat Bear winner.  Otis was very thin in July but his "fishing" skill paid off as he put on the pounds.
