I'm thrilled to be joined by Daniss Jenkins on the newest episode of the Eye on the Storm Podcast. The first commit of the Rick Pitino era and the point guard on opening night.

He talks about his career, what it's like playing for Damon Stoudamire and Rick Pitino, what it was like going up against UConn in the NCAA tournament last March and what St. John's fans can expect from him. Very enjoyable, loved that when asked to describe himself, Daniss started with ”great character and great respect“, and then backed it up with a “whatever it takes to win” attitude. Also his lesson from Pitino in handling adversity will serve him well for the rest of his life. Very mature and intelligent young man.

Listening to Daniss on the podcast , you can understand why Rick wants him to be the “ straw that stirs the Drink.”

When Pitino anoints a player like he has with Jenkins , you know that is a Special Player and young man . Rick doesn’t go all in on a player without full confidence that he will perform .

We are all looking forward to seeing Daniss this season and the rest of the team .
