Exhibition game or not that was a disappointing half of basketball.RP will be lighting some fires on some asses at HT. I expect a better showing in the 2H.

Thing about Darling that makes me nervous is Rick didn’t really talk about him once on media day, despite having some opportunities to do so.

If he’s not talking smack about you, it usually means he doesn’t regard you that high. Hope im off base but the PG thing is the only hole I see with this team until proven otherwise.

Think you’re jumping the gun a little early on this
I've always wondered about the fit between those 2 both being 4s and likely needing > 20 mins each. I guess I see a world where they can play the 4/5 together against smaller teams while Zuby sits but I still fail to see a world where Hopkins, Mitchell, and Zuby can share the floor together and not have it be a mess offensively

No, the offense didn’t look good.

By the 12 minute mark 11 guys had played and 7 are brand new. There’s about a 15-20 point variance between tough shots falling and good shots not. Not that that’s odd for a college basketball game.

Zuby is 0-7 from the field he’s missed some wide open looks.
Zuby 0-5, but yes missed a pair of chippies.

Darling had 3 of teams 4 turnovers.
Botched 2 on 1 with Ian was rough.

Rick obviously went with some funky lineups there giving Ayo and Lefty extended run when he probably wouldn't have if this game counted.

But that was not an encouraging 20 minutes of basketball. Zero players played well and some played downright bad. It wasn't a case of just missing open shots, there was just no flow whatsoever. Felt like the CMA days on offense. The defense was generally fine, Towson's best guys made some shots.

I expect Rick to shorten the bench and try to win this one.

I was more so talking of our poor spacing so far all together. Those two may be a challenge offensively, but between 5 or so minutes with the small lineup and 5 or so minutes with all 3 I think it will prove necessary.

Shooting helps break down defenses, and Jackson, Sanon, and sellers all do that. But beating defenders off the dribble and being a threat to get in the paint also breaks down defenses. Mitchell and Hopkins may be better than all three of those guys there.
