Has anybody received their season tickets yet? I still haven't, and we're now a week away. Hope my office didn't return them again, like they did a few years ago.

The ticket office is like the NCAA, they will get them to you right before the tip off of the first game or maybe after the season starts. Remember Sanchez and Bourgault?

No worries at the open practice I was told they would arrive this week--The tickets were delivered today by Fed Ex and they are also available on the e-ticket site per an email I received today.

OK, great.

I was not in the office today, so I haven't gotten them yet, so hopefully, they're waiting for me tomorrow.

Anyone a bit nervous about a St. Thomas Aquinas sequel? Especially if there's no Steere, Williams, Dunn. Hope we blow through them so we can relax and see what we have, but remember these little programs want to gun for the major D1 teams so they get in the headlines for a day nationally.

No

I am excited to finally see our beloved StJohn’s play fast paced end to end basketball.

IMO CMA’s style of basketball will be attractive to fans, players and recruits.

I am not worried about a STAC repeat but I will say I can’t get that game out of my head. Oddly my friend who attends many of the St. John’s games for me played for STAC back when Mullin was playing for St. John’s. He really enjoyed it on one level.

I just hope this isn't too rough to watch. I expect plenty of mistakes, but I do hope it's never at the point where we have to be nervous about the score. Hopefully the emphasis on harassing defense will lead to lots of turnovers for Queens.

Speaking of streaming, I got an email saying Playstation Vue is shutting down. That's what I use, because I don't have a cable box. Only use cable for internet. I stream Playstation Vue on my TV. You can do it through a PS4 or if you have a smart TV, through the Playstation Vue app which is what I do. I get all the possible channels SJ can play on for $49.99 per month (it's not the cheapest package).

So now it looks like I'll have to choose between Hulu and YouTube TV which is pretty new. Seems like similar pricing, however YouTube TV allows you to use an unlimited DVR online to record games which seems to be the selling point at the moment. Just found it interesting if others were considering cord-cutting or also had Vue and didn't realize they're discontinuing. The downside to YouTube TV at the moment is that I believe you can't watch on smart TV's yet and only on computers or phones but I could be wrong.

Cord-cutting has been fun for me, because I don't need a stupid, costly, and bulky thing taking up space. You will need to make sure you have very good internet speed though, because if not it will buffer. I think that's the last thing cable can hold onto right now. Also, when it says "Live" streaming it's often delayed compared to cable. I would be watching with friends who would yell "YES!" or "Crap" right as I'd be watching a SJ player shoot so it can be annoying knowing the outcome before it happens.

EDIT: I checked and YouTube TV does have an app for smart TV's.

Sling has ESPN and FS1/FS2. I think you need the combo package to get both ESPN and FS1/2 but I think the combo is still less than Vue.

Yes, get the Blue and Orange packages; about $40 a month; ESPN includes ESPN3 which is where tonights game is being carried
