Ex-SJU pitcher called up by Yankees

Danny Burawa, who was on our Big East championship team of 2010, was called up to the Bronx today. He'll be in the bullpen (and with the Yankees down 4-0 early, will probably get into this game at some point).

He's in now to start the 6th, with the Yankees down 7-2. Hit 97 mph with his first pitch.

Plus, JD Martinez is just locked in today. That was his 3rd HR of the game.

He's gone, now. 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Shame, because before the HR, he got the ground ball he was looking for with runners at first and second, but it was straight up the middle, between 2B and SS. The HR followed. Probably going down, as Girardi likes to keep fresh arms in the pen (just an educated guess).

I played with his son Matt at Msgr Farrell on SI. He also went onto SJU and got drafted by I believe the Cards. When his Mr Galante was in town with the Astros, he brought over Biggio and Bagwell one time. Awesome day.

Unfortunately, Burawa was sent back down to Scranton after the game. Hopefully, we will hear from him again. If not, at least he's on the pension plan.
