Its SJU79 from other board
So after being around the game 40 years and posting inside info about SJU basketball in my retirement I have to go through rookie posting hazing all to avoid Scheppy....fair enough
1) Ponds did NOT want to come to SJU he wanted Providence......
2) Zack Brown will likely qualify, he's very talented but MANY are very worried about him having freedom at college and that it won't work out....hope I'm wrong
3) Luther is a huge SJu lean and my guess he he will be the first to sign
4) Dort is more legit than people may think
5) Moses Brown is not a two team race between SJU and Gtown.
6) The Lawrence Woodmere kid is a stud,,,STUD
7) At least 2 current members of this years roster will not be back next season
8) I like the Walker kid, play s below the rim but smart and tough. Were recruiting too many athletes and fitting circles into square holes.....
 
I propose a waiver for SJU79 or at minium a quick call up. With one post he has already contributed more than most (including me). Although here it is easier to find and reference his posts. ;) :)

Nothing changed. Providence was in it from the beginning. Providence staff was at games. Ponds really liked coach Cooley. St. John's became relentless. Coaches AND players were at games. Family wanted to see him play. In the end he was coming to St. John's. Because Shamorie was listed as a small 6' shooting guard out of his junior year many of the blue bloods stayed away. Trekking to the badlands of East New York was not deemed worth it. I think he has grown to a legit 6'1 and is learning how to handle the ball better and working on his defense which were two of the weaker parts of his game in high school. As I expected, he is having a much bigger impact than Mussini as a freshman and has usurped his role.
He is a very reserved bright kid from a tough neighborhood who will be one of St. John's greatest guards by the time he graduates.

Welcome old timer! ;)
No one really knows whether Zach's core curriculum courses split between different schools will pass NCAA scrutiny yet. St. John's is trying to make sure there is continuity between the courses and schools now that he is finally settled. The one minor arrest charge remaining is not an issue. His biggest issue appeared to be maturity for such a big kid. Hopefully it gets worked out.
I have no clue about Luther M. There are more important recruits to close on first.
The black Irish are no longer a myth! The kid is a physical specimen but is still learning the game. Not the project Yakwe is but not a 5* Kentucky player either. Let's see if Mully's Irish roots can play a role.
We all know Moses already has the attention of the blue bloods. No scoop there but having a kid playing down the road from campus is still a big advantage. Success may sway him in our direction. His story is still in the infancy stage as is our return to the big stage.
Because this team is in dire need of talented front court players one or two scholarships need to become available. I agree that by the end of the season two ships will have sailed.
