ESPN's Top 50 College Coaches Right Now

Tom Crean is not on the list as Fran noted in another article. Scott Drew was tied at 50th. With this being said, will Lavin make it? We will see what his peers think! ha

At the very least this will open the door to some Lavin bashing. It's been about 36 hours since the last one. That has to be some kind of record.

If Lavin didn't make it, he didn't even make the list of those who "didn't make it." Total irrelevance.

Scott Drew is as worthless a game coach as Lavin, he just gets better talent payin off his recruits to play for BU

Interesting. There could be some serious NCAA sanctions here. Doubtful, but if it gets real bad they could allow players to transfer and play immediately (like Penn State Football). In that case.....hello, again, Rico Gathers?

I doubt it, but it's a nice day dream.

Would Lavin make it if it was a Top 100 list? Top 150?
I guess you wouldn't recommend his bball camp? :)

lol. I'm trying to be less negative.
I'm sure Lavin would be great with a group of youngsters, he's energetic and a good speaker. But if it was a coaching clinic? I think HS coaches might see right through his shtick.

"might"? :)

With all the coaching talent on this site someone should inform the new president he need not enmploy an a. d. or head coach just tunein and follow instruction on this site,

You say that in jest I am sure, but the truth is I whole-heartedly believe that several posters on here have better basketball minds than Steve Lavin. And I don't think it's close.

I agree. Except that I think it's more than just several.

I’d be very surprised if Fred Hoiberg is not on the list. To me, he personifies what we were hoping to get with Lavin. Both inherited losing teams that hadn’t been to the NCAA Tourney in several years, both are now 4 years into their turnaround efforts. Both are young and charismatic. Vastly different results.

Maybe these posters should apply to a Div I coaching job since it's not even close. Or maybe some of these posters are college basketball coaches.
