ESPNNY Poll

Speaking of polls, ESPNNY currently has a poll asking who should be the next coach, over 4,200 votes casts so far. The leading vote getter is not one of the Hurleys, Massiello or Mullin. It's Mark Jackson by a wide margin

Ignorant sluts! Doesn't ESPN know if you want to gauge the fans' sentiments you must go to Redmen.com? ;)

What exactly is the deal with Mark Jackson? Somehow I can't see him hitting the recruiting trail. Doesn't he live in LA?

Not surprising. Jackson is easily the most well known, especially for younger people.

I guess him paying off the prostitute and then having to turn to the FBI was kept pretty quiet

Lol, get over it. He had sex, big deal, victimless crime. Most of the coaches you want have done a lot worse.

I do think you have a point as to why SJU might not hire him though.

I bet less than 1% are St. John's fans and Mark Jackson is the most recognizable name on the list for anyone under 30 that isn't from New York.

At least he has coached

I, along with countless Northern Californians, would insist that he hasn't coached at all.

It goes to his integrity as he didn't disclose it when being hired for HC position then embarrassed the organization. I don't think a catholic university would hire an admitted adulterer and liar. Keep in mind I didn't mention his curb side sermons he was doing like a crazy person.

I guess that takes Patino off the list as well

My goodness, I am confused. If I am reading this correctly it is saying a candidate is not to be considered, for past indiscretions, and if we are being honest, I think that disqualifies almost everyone.
As a Catholic institution we should stand up for the sinner. That is what the Catholic faith is all about. If Rick Pitino were to come here, I think he should and would be welcomed here. I think we should not be so inclined to judge him, except for what kind of program he would build here.
I do not think we have any chance of landing him, but the things that are being said about his past are really sad.

The sermons on the corner like a crazy person are very recent!

Believe he is referencing Pitino not Jackson unless you are referring to Pitino sermonizing which I know nothing about.

I'm currently watching his fellow adulterer / extortion victim coach his team in yet another Elite Eight appearance. Your point is?
