The problem with this list is that there are NCAA teams from the 1940s & 1950s, when the NIT Champion was the true National Champion.
 
at some point if the NIT and NCAA winners were different and except for once with CCNY that was the case, didn't a POLL decide the National Champ, like they did in Football with no playoff. Until at some point the NCAA became the clear better tourney
 
Also found factual errors, credited Gail Goodrich with role on 64 UCLA champs, not sure if he was even active as Hazzard was in backcourt with Goss and Kenny Washington.

Only if you count as a role averaging 21.5 ppg. ;) :) That was the middle year of his 3 year career.

Thanks for correction. Am I still in shock from Neil O'Neill, only true point guard on NYU's pre-season ranked #1 team, being declared ineligible the day before the first game in the Fall of '63?
