He's vastly overrated as a recruiter. He's average to me. Not terrible, he landed some very good players here. But lets not act like everything he touched turned into gold. And if all he's got going for him is his "recruiting" then that's not nearly enough to run a program.[/quote]
Matt almost single-handedly recruited the most talented starting 5 in the Big East while half the staff spent the entire off season in California. Coaching them on the court to be a contender is not his job, or his forte. Considering what he had to deal with, I'd say he's a least above average. I'll always be grateful he decided to take a shot at his Alma Mater.
