What is really great about the documentary is that it wasn't sugar coated. It covered the incredible following he had as a high school player especially from the Dominican community, the incredible expectations and national attention, and the struggle to meet them.

His induction in the SJU HOF was a homecoming for Felipe. He has a HUGE personality and is a very funny guy who spoke humorously of his baseball failures, warmly of his lifelong friendship with Zendon Hamilton (his roommate at SJU), and his love for St. Johns.

When the Johnnie played several games in the DR two summers ago, Felipe hosted a reception for the team at his hilltop estate. Our latino and Dominican players especially hold him.in very high esteem as a national hero, and all of our DR players at the time were proud to welcome teammates, coaches and administrators to their home.

When we say "We are St. John's" the beautiful colors guys like Felipe add to the tapestry that is SJU makes our community very special and unique.

As an aside, those who are interested in meet and greets with coach Pitino and staff, attending the golf outings, HOF induction, or joining Red White and attending some of their sponsored events is a great way to do so.

If they only had a point guard like Shaheen they could have made a deep run.

Mahoney recruited better than just about any SJU coach in his short stint, but PG was the one position that he didn't land.

When he had a PG (Cain), he was BE coach of the year. When he didn't, he was on his way out.
