Family originally preferred he stay close to home, thus Fordham got a good one. One would suspect Nova is not too far away. His best friend btw is Donovan Mitchell who is heading to Louisville.

I think as he improves his conditioning he will be a nice player for a high major program.

Ja y and Tom are tight, no shocker if he ends up at Nova. Apparently parents will have a big say in decision.

@lohudinsider: Juan Paschall said his son will attempt to decide by signing day April 15. Fordham still a possibility. Paschall wants to meet new coach.

Why isn't anyone mentioning us? Oh that's right we don't recruit forwards.

@AdamZagoria: Can confirm @lohudinsider that Fordham's Eric Paschall has permission to contact other schools but doesn't have release, per his dad

Not saying we shouldn't check on his interest especially since Fordham is allowing him to make contact with other programs. However, if they do grant him his release I have some concerns (actually I doubt) that they will allow him to come to St. John's.

I don't think they can block him from coming here if he's sitting out a year. If he's not sitting out than I think they could (similar to Niagra w/Mason). Could be wrong though. Would love to get this kid.

They can block SJU (or any school) if they want.

Agree and it would not be the first time.

If Fordham does block potential transfers why would we continue to play them in the Hol Fest?

@AdamZagoria: Fordham G Eric Paschall is considering visits to Villanova & Providence, source tells @SNYtv

Putting a condition on what school a kid can transfer to is done by a lot of programs. So don't want the transfer to be another school within close proximity others don't want the player to transfer to a school they normally play. When Niagara, our Sister school, gave Antoine Mason his release last year, St. John's was on the list as one of the schools he could not transfer to.

Why keep playing them, tradition. Otherwise who else would we play in the water downed Holiday Festival?

Just my two cents, if they really put some effort into it, they could bring that Tourny back to greater heights. NYC is teaming with tourists and visitors during the Holiday season. But they have to really make it attractive again.

I understand teams will not commit to two games. In my day it was an 8 team tourney with some of the best teams in the country participating for 3 games.
