Enjoyable Trimble Interview

Greg StJ
“Proud of the sacrifices that @btrim12 has made to take his game to the next level. One of our smartest and toughest players. Only going to get better! Stay tuned”

Doesn't seem like a kid who is planning to transfer after this year as some have suggested. I hope he stays. Good kid and good team player. While he hasn't done much offensively this year, his defense has improved dramatically.

I've liked this kid from day 1. He is your perfect role player off the bench. Looks to me that getting in shape over the summer has not only taken off pounds but has made him stronger. Doubt he will ever start for us, but will be a very solid four year contributor. Hope that progression continues next year with him showing a little more willingness to take guys off the dribble when they lunge at him to defend the three.

Agree.

Once upon a time, teams and fans looked forward to players with modest stats in first two years, continuing to get better and be important pieces their last two seasons. Hope he is one.

“I love Mully.”

“I feel like by the end of this year I will be a lockdown defender.”

Gotta love this kid.

Good profile. Nice kid. like watching the profiles. Good kids who genuinely like playing for Mullin.

Also like listening to Mullin break down the game. Obviously knows the intricacies. May need help in certain areas but certainly growing into the job.

He has a place here but he still gets beat badly defending a guard off the dribble causing other player to leave their man and defend the rim

Maybe I’ve been a bit too hard on Trimble. In reality I do like him but I think the team needs more. As a guy coming off your bench to play a role he is great to have. We will however need some scoring from the bench at some point to end this season. He will rightfully get his fair chance and I hope he takes advantage.

I'll forgive you this once if you can just admit he defends PFs well.

Haha it’s all relative. Think I said the same thing before, for a 6’3 sg he defends pfs extremely well. Still as a blanket statement I don’t want him guarding PFs exclusively or for extended periods. Did a great job on Paschall the times they matched up Sunday.

He did more than match up well with Paschall, he put him on a milk carton. He was also matched up with 6’9 Cosby-Roundtree a lot and did very well. You know the dangers of falling asleep around a Cosby.

My favorite of the interview was Trimble saying “My season really turned when Mase picked Williams over me as the first guard off the bench. I took that personally.”

You've got to give credit to Trimble and the staff for his development this year. He looks way more confident since the start of the season. He's even started dribbling more and recently has made moves to the basket. Plus his effort on defense against bigger guys is commendable.

Let’s not act like he guarded him for 40 minutes. We switch constantly plus he missed shots. Like I said he did a great job. Paschall is also an undersized four who faces the basket, there are worse pf matchups for him, hopefully he gives Xavier’s bigs as hard a time.

I appreciate players who body their opponent all the time. Over the course of a game the fatigue generated can be exploited by teammates.
