Employment prospects Class of 2020 amid Covid-19 economy

I haven't heard this spoken about much in the midst of this turmoil, but I'm very concerned about job prospects for the Class of 2020.

With many industries taking a major hit, all but essential businesses shuttered for weeks, I don't see the likelihood of employers adding entry level positions over the next 9-12 months. This is likely going to be a rough go for new grads.

Any thoughts? Have you read anything about this.

Beast I haven’t seen anything. Right now things are day to day, for EVERYONE. This is a financial calamity for sure. I suspect with each passing day some businesses and the underlying jobs are just gone. I know one thing my bills keep coming. I suspect my company are going to clamp down on new hires for the foreseeable future.

My feeling is it's going to be somewhat of an employment crisis for a lot of people, not just 2020 grads. But eventually this all will pass, and the jobs will return. It's just a matter of how long before that actually happens.

And I agree that I don't think too many industries will be hiring entry level position any time soon. But I do think there will be plenty of jobs available for recent grads. However, it just may not be what they want to do or in their desired field. Will recent grads be willing to take those jobs, or will they have the attitude of, "I didn't go to college for four years to stock shelves, or work in a factory, etc..."?

For what it’s worth, I’m in the class of 2020 and yea it’s probably going to be tough. I’m considering a lot of things but I wanted to stay in New York but I doubt it’s going to happen
