"Emanuel", the story of the Charleston Church shooting is on Starz on Demand until June 16th. I found it to be very enlightening. The story is presented from the perspective of the deceased family members.

Because of what is going on in our country today, it is well worth watching.

I saw it when it was in regulars Starz a few weeks ago. It w very good.

Quick question. With Starz on Demand is the idea you can watch it any time you want and just pay a fee when you watch? I do see that we have that station available on our listings.

If you have Starz, it is free.

panther, watched it this morning. What a powerful piece. There are plenty lessons to be learned from it by everyone. Thank you for recommending it.

I don't know about Verizon but Frontier FIOS dropped Starz earlier this year. No mas access and I'm not paying for any more streaming services. It's getting ridiculous.

They also dropped Epix from their "All Channel" HD plan so I'm also going to miss part 2 of the Laurel Canyon doc. Damn.

My parents have that and epix etc so I’d go there to watch certain shows and binge them in Sunday’s but because of Covid I only stay in the backyard. Between regular Fios and hbo shiwtine Netflix Apple TV and everything else it’s getting just stupid.

Those family members deserve a lot of respect for the way that they handled themselves. I really don't think that I have that kind of forgiveness in me.

It also shows that faith in Christ can carry you through the worst situations.

Btw on showtime there is a documentary called “ active shooter America under fire “ I just happened to see episode 3 on the tv right now about the shooting and it’s real interesting

Austour, you can try "Echo in the Canyon" on Netflix. It's another music documentary on the Laurel Canyon scene.

I echo the endorsement of Echo in the Canyon; very good look at that sound in the late 60s, early 70s done by Bob's son Jakob Dylan.

Funny you guys mentioned that because as I'm watching part 1 and they're billing it as new I'm thinking to myself, self, weren't there a lot of people talking about this last year? How come they are calling it new?

Also were there sufficient Monkees references in Echo? Loved that part ;)

Watched Emanuel with my wife and son last night. Very moving film. The amount of faith and forgiveness the families of the victims exhibited was truly amazing.

We are all told to forgive. I've heard that so many times at Mass. I just wish more people would do so (for much, much lesser issues), yours truly included.

I got part (the tail end) on one of the documentaries on Laurel Canyon. I knew about the connection with Linda Ronstat, Jackson Browne, Don Henley and Glenn Frey, but learned so much more regarding Jim Morrison and others. I will be looking out for the two part documentary and Echos.
