Although born in DC, the Urgo family has Italian roots in NYC. Congrats to him!
Just think, we have two young up and comers in our back yard who were COY, Urgo and Claxton, who may be on the short list for a possible St. John's job.
However, don't expect a happy fan base.
Neither will move the dial on national recruiting or media attention a week after their hire.
Neither will bring in donor dollars.
If Anderson leaves I expect a name of national attention.
At this stage of the game if you're going to break into the piggy bank to pay for Anderson's departure you have to go big in getting the best coach money can buy in the short run because the fans are tired of 4 year rebuilding projects.

Was saying St. John’s fans should hold off praising a 1st year head coach as a great hire since we all know things can change from year to year.

Agree but in CMA’s case he was named coach of year off low pre season expectations. His record of 10-9 in BE play and missing NCAA tournament not that big of an accomplishment.
