Signs with Virtus Bologna of Italy. I believe they are one of the most prestigious teams in Italy.

I can't believe there isn't a roster spot in the NBA for this guy.

Based on what? One half season of stellar play over his college career. I loved how he outplayed the best guards in college for 6 weeks, but once he returned to earth, he was a smaller 2 guard without blazing speed, a great shot, or great ball handling skills. One of my all time favorite SJU players who led the resurrection of the program, but likely short of NBA caliber ability.

He only played two years at SJU, and only one for Lavin. Playing in the best college conference, Hardy was first-team all conference, a runner-up for conference MVP, and one of 20 finalists for the Wooden Award. After college, he has played in Italy and Spain. In his first year, he is listed as a point guard, averaged 22 points, and was named league MVP.
I thought that exceptional SJU team had four players who might find a spot on the roster of one of the thirty NBA clubs. Kennedy, Brownlee and Burrell were the others. I don't know which teams Hardy tried out for, but maybe it was not finding the right fit, or maybe the guy prefers playing in Europe, as with Walter Berry. I didn't expect him to be a starting point guard, but I thought he could be a back-up, even though his natural position was off guard. it could still happen for him.

important to note Virtus once featured Manu Ginobili who won the euroleague tittle and went on to win 3 nba championships...theres always hope :woohoo:

You made a good argument for Hardy. Nice job! I still don't think it changes the fact that he is undersized for an NBA 2, doesn't have blazing quickness, tremendous range on his jumper, or great ball handling and playmaking skills. I'd love to see him make it though, and would gladly admit I'm wrong if he does. Walter Berry didn't prefer to play in Europe, but was making good money there, all guaranteed, and no NBA team would guarantee him similar money.
