I dont hate Nova but Dr Fun hates Nova and they are the #1 team in the country today so DrUCK Nova. We just beat the #1 team in the country on the road for the first time since 1985 !!!!

Villanova and its fans deserved this loss! Only 10,000 fans to half fill the arena for the #1 team in the country? Only 12 miles from campus, this doesn't say much for the Nova fan base. If SJU was nationality ranked, let alone the#1 team, the Garden would be packed. And we are in the most sports saturated market in America.
Screw Villanova!!!!!

Wait a second! Only last week, 0 miles from campus, we played the number 6 team in the country, and only about 3000 fans showed up. Wasn't exactly a bad showing by our kids, taking the #6 team one country down to the wire, but even ticket holders stayed home.

Some poster suggested on here just last week that only ponds was a big east player. Simon, a bust. Clark, a cast off. Owens also a cast off. Ahmed, an out if control joke.

Posters blamed Mullin for being too lax on players, for having no offensive schema, for running an NBA atmosphere without coaching in game. The former boy genius st. Jean criticized as being given too much control, for taking over timeouts.

Pretty much was a given that Mullin was to blame for the short bench, Matt A wasnt all that good, and Mitch was cashing a check.

Conventional wisdom by 95% of posters on here that Mullins worst ever big east record would be reason enough to fire him now as proof that he couldn't do this job but that next season was do or die.

Now, in just 2 games, after beating perhaps the 2 best coaches in college basketball, those same fans are giddy and professing their love for this team and their players.

Nearly every nova student I've known from queens and long island roots for st. John's when we don't play their own school. They show up with their parents who went here to root for us. I know a freshman there now who with 3 siblings at nova who would wear both nova and st johns gear when we played them.

Yea, shame on working fans for skipping a 7 pm start in Philly against the bottom dweller of the big east. Truck them, yea,, truck them. Their program is everything we want ours to be

Jay Wright and the Nova program are pure class. Reading Wright's quotes both before and after the game he gave all kinds of compliments to our guys. When asked about injury to Paschall he said we can't use that as an excuse, SJU is missing its best player you have to give them credit (best player is bit of an overstatement, but you get the point). I loved beating Nova because it's beating the best. Have no animus toward coach, players or fans though.

Oh stop already!
Now you are trying to make excuses for Villanova fans using our putrid season when we are the last place team as a comparison? You must be bored as shit!;)
Oh, it was a 7pm game. The Villanova kids were still in the library.
Oh, it was raining and the Villanova fans didn't have umbrellas.

They "were" the #1 team in America and they are not Philadelphia's team. That's a fact. They are a suburban school made up of white Catholic kids with good SAT scores who come from the New York and Philly suburbs whose second choice is usually Marist.
How many games has the #1 team sold out in Philly?
Screw Nova!:)

One thing I can count on from you is being semi to non serious all the time. A lot of guys don't read you that way, but you are having fun.

I'd have to check, but BC publishes the top ten schools their students apply to. For BC it is all 8 Ivy's, Villanova, and Georgetown. While Marist is a good school, Villanova admission standards are much tougher.

Just jerking your chain Beast!;)
My nephew graduated Villanova Law and he is a huge St, John's fan! His siblings went to NYU and Marist so I am very familiar with the profile.
Did I tell you I hate Marquette?;)

Now I don't hate Wright, nor Nova, but don't care for Philly, as a city-and the fans of their pro-teams are a bit over the top, i.e. snowballs at Santa Claus; booing a paralyzed player from the other team; horrific physical assaults on fans at Geno's who happened to be wearing Rangers' jerseys. Nova is really a rich suburban location not like the grittier schools within the city.

I would have expected a better crowd given their number 1 ranking and playing a hometown team for a bunch of these NY area kids, plus we did just beat Duke and gave them all they could handle in the Garden, so it stacked up to perhaps be a competitive game.

Beast, I know you like Nova, but can't you agree a few more fannies in the seats?

Mike , I understand you have a personal dislike for Mullin sitting at the Scorer’s table . Others , like myself don’t . No problem , other than two fans disagreeing . I like Cooley and he has rebuilt Providence’s Program but , would you approve his pounding on the Scorer’s table at the Dunk during a recent game ? It wasn’t just a one or two pound but, a whole set . Followed by the more Player oriented , exhortation to the fans to get Loud . He did that too. Cooley is actually a much more animated sideline Coach than Mullin and it’s fine , because that is his persona . It’s part of what makes Cooley , Cooley . Wright , is usually a great Sideline prescience and , since Nova loses so rarely , he doesn’t usually go off on the sidelines . But, during our Game on Tuesday , he was as guilty as Mullin in getting on the Refs and I thought they gave him unfair advantage down the stretch when Nova started to foul. They basically gave him full timeouts as he engaged them in discussion before our Players went to the line . I was screaming at the Set for the Refs to tell him to quiet down . It extended the game by more than a few minutes . I understand Wright has a lot of clout , which he and his team have earned but, it really was a Official error to allow him such extended time , without charging them a timeout . That being said, Wright is All Class , a great Coach and builder of a great Program at Villanova . Which is also a great school . My Granddaughter just took her Applicant visit there and spent a few moments talking to him . It was a special visit arranged through contacts and she was thrilled . He is a charmer for sure . ND is still her first choice but, meeting him and seeing the Nova Campus really impressed her . She has the stuff to get admitted to both, and we will see soon . As a St John’s Alum , I wish our school Administration , would give as much emphasis to Academic Excellence as ND and Nova have built . And , not having St John’s ranked in the top 100 schools is to me , a great disappointment . I hope President Bobby and the Deans of the various Schools would establish that as a Major Objective , even if it takes 10 years .
