Are there any insights about the development of this young player, who I assume has been practicing w the team for the past year? Regardless of promising transfers and/or recruits, Traore may be asked to play a significant role this year. Thanks in advance for comments, and congrats to staff for great off season.

Not sure about his development. However, there have been several mentions by teammates and coaches that he is a team-first guy and a relentless worker. Let's hope that pays off. My sense is he is an easy kid to root for.

Barring injuries, where do you see him playing a significant role?
That's a good question. My perception is he is almost exclusively a four. And, with Jones taking a majority of minutes at that position and Stanley likely ahead of him developmentally, it's going to be tough. Mathis fighting for minutes as well.

If he sticks around he can be a high-energy player in a couple of years off the bench

I know we all don’t want any kids to become unhappy and potentially move on, but it will be impossible to keep all 13 kids content no matter the hockey line changes. Most good teams tighten rotation to keep best players on the court as much as advisable. Depth is great, but some fallout is usually a reality. In the old days players waited their turn, but instant gratification too often wins out in today’s game.

Kid has a great name though, hope he gets into some games. I think they called called Tony Soprano by that name in episode where he visited Italy lol

Very well put and 100% agree.

Drissa is tough and strong inside and can play with an edge. Will have to see where he is.

During his time at LuHi, he played and rotated at the 4 and 5 spots with at least four other guys who are now playing D1 ball (Key at Ohio State, Mostafa at Coastal Carolina, Klaczek at St. Joe‘s and Sidibe at Norfolk State) so yes, definitely a team player.

Have never seen Drissa play, but reading comments about him reminds me a little of what we heard about the Duke when he first started. Questionable whether he'd ever get big minutes at BE level but would do everything he could to get there. It worked for Earlington, hopefully works for Drissa.

He is a project . . . but not a huge one. He's athletic and is used to tough competition.

He has four more years here and hopefully he uses them all.

He needs to take the long view because this year will be tough minutes wise. And tough minutes after a redshirt has probably resulted in many a transfer.
