this team ( and recruits) is really shaping up, contrary to some negativism having been displayed in the last few weeks.

This is not a GREAT CLASS so far. It is good. Let's see who commits next to elevate to a great class.
Under Lavin, there are and have been more kids interested in joining the team than Lavin was willing to add. Look at who is involved now for two spots: Chandler, Nolan, Wood, Goodman, Turner, Morris (to a lesser degree), etc. Lavin does not want-- nor can he even if he wanted--to add all of them. I'm sure he has his preferences out of the group.
Lavin is like a Hold'em player in that he slow-plays from time to time. I think GG was an example of that last year.
Doubting Lavin in recruiting is just silly.

Right now it's borderline top 20.

Rankings will never do this class justice because of its unique makeup. Branch was #52, but won't be considered in the rankings. Sampson was #40, but won't be ranked by may services as a fifth year senior. Heck, we might get Carson and he was ranked #14. The rankings of those three recrutis alone would give us a top ten class.
Sanchez and Bourgault also do little to help, as they are JUCO's.
