Pointer said the Storm wouldn’t have been in those situations if it hadn’t gotten off to a poor start, but the team’s anxiety level was high. “It has to do with losing,” he explained. “We came in 0-4 in the Big East. When any team is 0-4, you’re a little uptight. We wanted to win so bad we overexhausted ourselves at the beginning of the game.”

He said they need to get one under their belts. “Once we get a good win, we’re going to shoot right off,” he said. “Once we feel how it is to win again, the sky’s the limit. Our season is nowhere near over.”

2 things in response. First, you have started off slow in just about every single game this season. Not just Big East play.

Second, your season is over (barring winning the conference tournament). Can't beat DePaul or Providence, but going to beat Villanova, Georgetown, Creighton, and Xavier? Appreciate the optimism Dom, but this season is an abysmal failure.

And try not to hit someone in a one point game which gave away two points and the game in Chicago

Are we really going to kill Pointer for saying this? Come on, I'd expect him to say nothing less.

Yes.
Granted we don't know the exact question asked and how it was answered but its classic example of not stopping the words sooner rather than later. The more you say the more room for error. Leave it alone with the recap of last night's performance. No need to become Nostradamus.

Maybe and it is a big maybe, the game against Dartmouth is coming at the right time. Win and we stop the losing streak and maybe it builds a little confidence heading into the Seton Hall game. We need something, anything to stop the hemorrhaging.

My memory for such things is poor but I think the level of frustration now is higher than the Norm years.

Any chance Fordham will join the BE? :p

The only way its not over, and the only way is if Lavin gives the keys to Jordan, and tells him this is your team..No doghouse if he makes an error, you have to give the kid the reassurance that you will not hook him for a miscue..Freshmen will make mistakes..Let him go through every situation as he has more upside than anybody else in Red...That is how freshmen grow quickly, and develop..

I heard an explanation for Sampson(cramps) and Obepka(food poisoning) but I have not heard a reason as to why Jordan was a spectator last night. Anyone?

Keady fwiw referenced it was a "Coach's decision" when asked by Brandon Tierney on post game show, noting it may have been fact he mishandled the ball a few times and did not defend well in first half.

Lavin said he stuck with the guys who got him back in the game.
Doesn't explain Hooper appearing as a ball handler.

I don't care what the coaching staff says after a game we lose. Jordan should be our point guard period. Yes, he may screw up now and then, but he is a freshman that is what freshman do. He also has strengths that cannot be ignored. I am afraid some of our guys are playing on the court acting like "deer in the headlights" as they play. They have to be able to play without the fear of being yanked at the first or second error. This team is up tight. They play like they don't want to make a mistake and instead that is all they do right now. Let them loosen up and you are going to see a whole different team show up to play.

I am too busy killing Dom because he is the worst offensive rebounding forward in the country this year.

Wait till Dom talks about how he has to rebound the ball better. You're gonna fall off your chair.

I am hoping it is not over for the team. It does seem, however, that it is over for his jump shot. His drives and heaves are also not turning out well. He looks like a quarterback throwing the shovel pass, but his isn't a pass.

If we played Lavin at small forward and made Dom the coach, we would be a more competitive team.
