Derek fisher fired

last year didnt matter, void of talent. This year you need to set the rotations and offense. Ive never seen someone worse at roster deployment then Fish. Some of his decisions have been borderline idiotic.

Rotations were bizarre

I can't get too excited about this. No, Fisher was not any good, but whoever the next coach is has to be a puppet to the Phil Jackson triangle system. No coach can be allowed to be his own man, as long as Phil is (somewhat) around. It's almost like Phil is coaching the team from 3,000 miles away.

Fisher is owed $14 million on a $20M/5 year contract. Only the Knicks! Who gives all that money to an unproven rookie coach, unless it's Steve Kerr. Although, if Steve Kerr did not come to his senses by saying "no way Jose" to the Knicks, he would have suffered the same fate as Fisher.

Really not surprised based on his recent statements about winning. Time for the Knicks to bring back one of their own --Mark Jackson.

You better hope it works out here, because Chris Mullin did not come cheap.

I like Mark Jackson but don't think he's Phil's choice.
I think its between Thibodeau or Rambis. But Rambis was awful in Minn last year.

Well if Rambis turns out to be terrible again that will be two horrible hires. My guess is from there he goes to either Rich Kotite or Ray Handley.

Good point.

Steve Kerr choose talent over his familiarity with Phil Jackson. Mullin is the face of the program and most likely has a long leash, plus talent appears to be on its way. I hope Mullin earns every penny to point where he's asking for a raise for putting out a successful and sustainable product for years to come.

Good riddance to this bum. Way over his head from day 1. Terrible, terrible coach. How many times are you going to give Afflalo the green light to go ISO and take the last shot of the game?! How many times did he force the potential game winner/tying shot or force a shot during a clutch situation? Atrocious coaching. He should never ever coach again.

I like Mark Jackson as well but don't think it will be him or Thibodeau
It will more likely be someone from the Jackson tree
Shaw, Walton or Rambis
If these are the options, I'd go with Walton
But the best of coach of the lot is clearly Thibodeau
My order: Thibodeau, Jackson, Walton, forget Shaw and Rambis (recycled losers)

Everyone pushing for Jackson to be Knicks coach must be Nets fans. He's a jerk and not a very good coach.

I think Walton is a great choice . . . after Thibs wears out his welcome here for not being a people person.

Why is Walton a great choice? The worst thing the Knicks can do is fire someone with no head coaching experience for someone else with no head coaching experience. Makes no sense
