DePaul Hires Seton Hall's President

If it isn't the number one job, it's way up on the list of responsibilities for the President of the University to be the number one fundraiser to generate corporate and alumni donations. Universities often send a new President on the road continuously during his first year in office to visit alumni groups and solicit funds. His 2nd or third year would have a formal campaign with a goal. All this requires a president with great communication skills and charisma to meet with alumni, establish relationships with the student body and corporate entities in his area and solicit funds.

I don't know what this guy's track record is in this regard, but for the Vincentians to hire a second university President who comes from a foreign country is likely not the best choice to meet this important criteria.

All the feedback about Father Levesque for the 1 year he was at SJU was that he was amazing. It's too bad he was way past retirement age and was just helping out. Even partially disabled he would zip around campus in a motorized cart, frequently interacting warmly with students.

Are you implying that there's a certain level of questionability regarding the decision making abilities of Vincentian universities? Wherever would you get this idea?
 
Is Niagara now also required to hire a president of Filipino heritage?

Think aobut it - not a ridiculous thought. Niagara has a priest, and that came cheaply. I would imagine that the other 2 guys aren't exactly killing it salary wise.

My guess is that the 3 combined make less than Harvard's president. Maybe a lot less. I wouldn't even bet that Bobby G. is making Rob Wile money - just to be nasty.

Gives you an idea of how little Seton Hall was fundraising before that. $27 million in a year is not exactly impressive, though SJU has a lot of season ticket holder that consider the purchase of tickets their "donation" to the school.

I think he'd actually be great at the job. Plus he needs to hide out for a while to rebuild reputation because he was an embarrassing Trump suck up and has nothing to show for it, except maybe some Trump dry cleaning tickets left over in his wallet.

I actually think Christie might end up taking over for Mike Francesa when he retires. I think Christie would be a fantastic sports talk show host especially in the model of Francesa in the whole confrontation thing with callers

Agreed. He would be able to bridge the divide between faculty and students over a span of years that would likely draw media interest without keeping anyone in suspension.

I'd hate to be romantically involved with a conservative if that's their idea of a "hug." Lots of boring evenings at home. :lol:
 
I wonder why Bobby G isn't making an effort to raise money? Dean Simmons ( law dean) has no problems asking and raising money so why Is Bobby hesitating? Is he shy or something? Maybe with the 22 million dollar infusion from the Oakdale sale he doesn't want to, but it seems bizarre.
