Dennis Bligen

I am not sure if this has ever been posted on here in the past but I thought it was worth sharing for those who are not aware. Dennis Bligen is a former St. John's football player & the only player ever from St. John's to play in the NFL (he played 5 years with the Jets) and later served as assistant football coach at St. John's until the program was disbanded, & was inducted to the St. John's Hall of Fame in 1998. Unfortunately Dennis is now in need of a kidney donor after he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. This led to the formation of the Dennis Bligen Kidney Foundation which recently held a NYC Walk-A-Thon to raise money. Below is a link to the foundation along with a nice bio of Dennis.

There was a football reunion held last December on the day the basketball team NJIT. Money raised for the Dennis Bligen Kidney Foundation. The story behind Dennis receiving a kidney and the sacrifice made by Jill Christiansen and others is just indescribable.
